WE believe

that business is a tool for awakening; a tool for nourishment of the earth, of all people and of the soul. We see a generation of entrepreneurs rising up, working to change the reputation of the corporation from greedy and deceiving to abundant and loving. We believe this is happening through a new model of business called the Benefit Corporation. We know B Corps are leading the way, bringing love to their supply chains, their employees and to one another. We exist to promote this emerging love story through targeted marketing and PR strategies; inspiring and authentic storytelling and brand building.

We are a growing consortium of women creators who are dedicated to telling the story where business meets good.

We are a growing consortium of women creators who are dedicated to telling the story where business meets good.


We are photographers, videographers, social media experts, designers and writers. We work together on a project basis and can be pulled together into different teams based on unique storytelling strategies. 

Most of our partners are freelancers or building startups. Some of them are leaving their full-time jobs in order to launch their own company.

Eventually, B Storytelling will partner with young women creators who need someone to stand beside them and encourage their professional and creative growth. We specifically want to work with women who have survived or are vulnerable to human trafficking. We believe jobs and mentoring are key in preventing the trafficking of women. 

B STORYTELLING EXISTS TO EMPOWER THESE WOMEN IN THEIR CREATIVE GIFTS AND SUPPORT THEM FROM THEIR EARLY BEGINNINGS.

Writing stories of businesses creating positive impact was what Julie Fahnestock did for fun. From fair trade, to closed-loop and the clean-tech movement, Julie has always been committed to promoting the sustainable impact of social enterprises. As the Founder and Creative Director for B Storytelling, Julie is in her flow.    

The idea for B Storytelling was birthed after Julie spent a summer as the Research Director for Canaan Fair Trade, a Palestinian, olive oil company. For three months, Julie canvassed numerous Palestinian villages in the West Bank. After interviewing dozens of fair trade, olive oil farmers as part of an impact assessment study by Canaan Fair Trade, Julie was struck by the power of the farmers’ stories.  She knew she wanted to converge her love for writing and storytelling with her desire to see business used as a tool for love. The idea progressed as Julie became a Staff Writer for 3BL Media and Just Means, the largest sustainability, online, news outlet. She found her favorite pieces to be the first-person interviews with B Corps. She was inspired by their commitment to both profit and mission and became eager to tell their stories. In almost every interview, Julie found a need for deeper storytelling, brand building and targeted content strategies for the B Corp movement.

And thus began B Storytelling.

Julie holds an MBA in Sustainability from Marlboro College Graduate School and is pursuing a Certificate in Storytelling and Content Strategy from the University of Washington. She has ten years of experience in nonprofit management, serving in roles such as Director of Marketing and Storytelling; Creative Director; Producer and Communications Coordinator. B Storytelling marries her understanding of business, brand building and her commitment to the nourishment of the soul of all beings.
